The
Positive Prevention PLUS curriculum is California’s best source for evidence-based instruction in Comprehensive Sexual Health Education and Teen Pregnancy Prevention, aligned with California and National Health Education Standards. Positive Prevention Plus includes lessons about human sexuality and provides students with the knowledge and skills they need to develop healthy attitudes concerning adolescent growth and development. Monte Vista's Physical Education Department will administer the state required curriculum to all sophomores beginning Monday, April 24th. Parents are encouraged to review the materials and contact the Physical Education Department if they have any questions or concerns about the curriculum. State law allows parents to excuse their child from part or all of the Positive Prevention PLUS curriculum by providing a written request to your child’s teacher. Requests should be received before instruction begins on April 24th.
