Our MESA (Math, Engineering, Science, Achievement) club on campus competed in their first MESA Day at SDSU against all other San Diego County MESA schools. We had teams code and design a prosthetic arm, build a balsa wood airplane and bridge, design an egg carrier to be dropped from 60 feet, and all of these students willingly took an age specific mathematics exam. Travis Kulhanek took 1st place in the math test for 10th graders, Danielle Kelsey, Ami Sanders and Lea Sanders took 3rd place in the senior team math exam, and Brad Iglesia, Katy Clark, Luiz Gonzales, and Rubisela Gonzales took second place in the technical paper for the prosthetic arm competition! Our winners will advance to the regional competition on April 1st.
